Sarkun Ra

Anthem:

Once, a nomadic people who roamed the great void, the Sarkunese long ago, valued peace. Hunted, tricked, and enslaved, they were driven to toward the precipice of extinction. This was until, as chance happened, they came upon an abundant system centered around a uniquely positioned star. Few systems like it have been found, with multiple planets, all in their early amoebic stages of life. Battling gravity and disease was difficult, nearly finishing the job their enemies began. However, with technology, medicine, determination, and resolve, they succeeded in transforming their bodies to be suited for terrestrial inhabitance.
Soon, the Sarkunese began to terraform, building cities, infrastructures, and for the first time, a military to defend it. With their new power, a cultural shift turned them quickly from helpless nomads, to ruthless warriors. After a time, their numbers were restored, which allowed them to begin seeking vengeance on all those who had wronged them in the past. In their eyes, none could be trusted, and all would be better suited serving their own purpose.
Now, Sarkun Ra spans three systems. It is a vast Empire of Slavers who have amassed great wealth over centuries of free labor. Slaves outnumber the Sarkunese nearly 4 to 1. Viewed as disposable objects, these poor souls encounter countless atrocities committed by Sarkunese on a daily basis. Their flag depicts a sun, with 14 hands reaching out from it. The sun, represents the Pharaoh, in all of his divinity while each ray represents the 14 overseers in his court. Each of whom are designated a region of the empire to govern. The hands represent what the overseers must do. Bring value from their region for the good of the empire. Spreading their influence upon the galaxy and increasing value for the kingdom... For what good is wealth and labor in the hands of those who know not how to use it?

PEOPLE & Culture
Sarkun Ra society is primarily made of up of slaves. The citizens of the nation are rather eclectic but many are quite wealthy. Outsiders are generally unwanted as the Sarkunese understand the general views outsiders have on slavery. If one shows up within their borders, they are not granted the rights of the citizens and thus, can risk being taken as a slave themselves. Naturally, the conflict in ideals and morality leads to tension between the Sarkunese and many of their neighbors. It is believed that, should the Republican & Caldenari Alliance reign supreme over the Tzyq, they will set their sights on Sarkun Ra.

MILITARY & Fleet
The Golden Fleet boasts the largest number of medium and large sized ships in the sector. They seems to care little for their lack of fighters, treating the large vessels as rather expendable, compared to other factions who work hard to protect the few they have.
Flagships: Helios MK II

Architecture & Territories
Sarkunese architecture tends toward the grandiose. Built on the backs of the many slaves who serve the proletariat, they live in massive pyramid palaces.
